Rally the Reasonable by Bramnick will focus

on ending gerrymandering

TRENTON, N.J. – Assembly Republican Leader Jon Bramnick is calling for the end of gerrymandering saying competition in the political arena is vital to democracy.

“Making legislative and congressional districts competitive is more important now than ever in our history,” said Bramnick (R-Union). “The gerrymandering of voting districts causes elected officials to be more extreme, either far to the political left or the right, with less chance of compromise. Most Americans are in the middle of the political spectrum and gerrymandering of districts is a disservice to our democracy.”

Bramnick has proposed a resolution (ACR88) ending gerrymandering and is hopeful that either the courts or Congress will end the practice. This goal will be incorporated into his statewide Rally the Reasonable tour.
