RAZZOLI CONDEMNS THE ‘NEW WAY FORWARD’ ACT, AND CALLS ON WATSON COLEMAN TO WITHDRAW HER CO-SPONSORSHIP
Mark Razzoli, Republican candidate for the House of Representatives in New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District today called on his opponent to withdraw her support for H.R. 5383, known as the “New Way Forward Act”.
H.R. 5383 dismantles the public safety provisions of the American immigration system. Among other things, it eliminates “crimes of moral turpitude” as a legal basis for deportation of a criminal alien, and greatly reduces the category of “aggravated felony” as a legal basis for deportation.
“This radical legislation goes far beyond welcoming new immigrants,” said Razzoli. “It removes important protections for the safety of the American public, and ties the hands of the professional law enforcement officials who are on the job every day to protect law-abiding people from dangerous criminal aliens.”
“As a police officer and detective, my job was to protect human lives and promote public safety. This bill would empower dangerous criminals at the expense of public safety.”
“I call on my opponent to withdraw her support for H.R. 5383, and to focus on legislation that will protect her constituents,” concluded Razzoli.
Watson Coleman is one of 43 co-sponsors of H.R. 5383. The list of 43 co-sponsors includes all four members of the far-left group of U.S. Representatives known as “The Squad”.
Mark Razzoli represents the Fourth Ward of Old Bridge on the Old Bridge Township Council. He is a decorated police detective, who is retired from the Jersey City Police Department. Razzoli is running for the House of Representatives in New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District, which covers parts of Mercer, Middlesex, Somerset and Union Counties.
