Recreational Fishing Alliance Endorses MacArthur

Toms River, New Jersey – Today, the Recreational Fishing Alliance (RFA) endorsed Tom MacArthur in New Jersey’s Third Congressional District. The RFA is a non-partisan organization with a history of endorsing Republicans and Democrats at all levels of government. The Recreational Fishing Alliance is a non-partisan, not-for-profit 501c4 organization, that is allowed to provide candidate-related information to members, endorse specific candidates, urge the election or defeat of a particular candidate, and encourage contributions to a candidate.

“Congressman Tom MacArthur has been an incredible friend to saltwater anglers nationwide. He is as accessible as anyone we have ever worked with in Congress. Tom has opposed oil drilling off our coast, worked to have our local channels dredged, and has always supported efforts to ensure catch limits are based on the best available science,” said Jim Donofrio, Executive Director of Recreational Fishing Alliance. “Tom’s opponent is – quite frankly – an extremist who is out of touch with the needs and concerns of our nation’s saltwater sportsmen. He will side with radical politicians who continually work to deny access and advance policies that lead to a broken and fatally flawed fisheries management system, which is perpetuated by ideology not science. We are working tirelessly to get our members and their families in South Jersey out to vote for Tom MacArthur this year.”

“I have been proud to stand with the Recreational Fishing Alliance on some big issues before Congress and I will continue to do so when I am re-elected. Recreational fishing is a big part of our local economy and the government should do all it can to help advance policies to help grow the recreational fishing industry,” said Congressman Tom MacArthur.
