Westfield, NJ – Sam Rockaway, Vice President of Sales at REDCOM, recently appeared as a guest on “The Source of Commercial Real Estate.”

Rockaway joined host Jonathan Hayek to discuss what it takes to excel in the commercial real estate landscape, especially in the highly competitive architectural, construction and engineering space.

Rockaway emphasized the advantages of having engineering, architecture, and general contracting all integrated under one roof at REDCOM. He says, “The advantage, in my view, is that when someone is going to buy raw land or there is an existing building on the land, they have no idea of knowing – without hiring an engineer – what the buildable yield can be…what the rules and regulations are…when they hire an engineer, they have a short duration to figure those answers out.”

He continues to explain, “In-house, our engineers can jump on this and get right into it. At the same time, the architects can start to do a layout for our estimators and construction team … we can get a price together…and let the buyers know if the deal is going to work for them.”

Rockaway remarked how the teamwork inherent in design-build supports transparency for the client. “It definitely helps everyone out. The end users of the building, the investors…It brings clarity. The last thing you want to do to someone on a project is surprise them with a big number.”
