Reid for Assembly Announces Major Endorsements In LD10 Assembly Bid

Mayor Stephen Reid, Candidate for Assembly, Announces the Endorsement of Former State Senator Andy Ciesla (R-Brick) and a Majority of the Republican Mayors in the 10th Legislative District

Point Pleasant, New Jersey – Point Pleasant Beach Mayor Stephen Reid, Republican candidate for Assembly in the 10th Legislative District, today announced the support of former 10th Legislative District Senator Andy Ciesla (R-Brick) and a majority of the Republican Mayors in the 10th Legislative District. In a show of support that clearly gives Reid real momentum in the race for the soon to be vacant Assembly seat, seven out of ten chief executives in the 10th District endorsed Reid’s candidacy and praised his leadership.

“I am humbled and proud to have the support of Senator Ciesla and my fellow Mayors as I seek to represent the residents of the 10th District in Trenton. The people of the 10th District remember the tireless public service Senator Ciesla put forth on their behalf, much like current Assemblyman David Wolfe. I intend to emulate their record of service in the legislature. My fellow Mayors and I are a tight knit group that work closely on issues effecting our towns. That is why their endorsement means so much to me. They have seen my brand of leadership and what we have been able to do in Point Pleasant Beach up close. Their endorsement sends a strong message that I have the right record and vision to represent the 200,000 residents of the 10th District in Trenton.”

“As Mayor, Steve took over a town that had felt the impact of Superstorm Sandy, years of divisiveness in its politics and empty storefronts in its downtown. Steve’s leadership was the cool and collected vision and guidance Point Pleasant so desperately needed. He led Point Pleasant Beach through its recovery from the storm, healed the divides within his town and has led a renaissance in Point Pleasant’s downtown.

The ability to keep one’s cool in a crisis, to be a peacemaker and to lead an economic resurgence is exactly the type of leadership we need in Trenton.” Former 10th District State Senator Andy Ciesla (R-Brick)

“I’ve known Steve and had the pleasure of working with him for many years. He has the charisma and vision to make a difference in Trenton. I am happy to support his candidacy and look forward to working with him as our next Assemblyman.” Mayor Tom Kellehar, Toms River.

“Steve’s ability to treat everyone around him with dignity and respect will go a long way in Trenton. With the Democrats in full control of State government, our taxes continue to rise at an alarming rate. The people of the 10th District deserve an Assemblyman that will not only fight rising taxes, but has the skills and abilities to be effective as a member of the minority party. Steve is that candidate and I’m proud to support him.” Mayor Ken Palmer, Manchester.
