RELEASE: DR. ARATI KREIBICH SUPPORTS GOV. MURPHY’S DECISION TO POSTPONE PRIMARY ELECTION, REITERATES CALL FOR UNIVERSAL VOTE-BY-MAIL
Glen Rock, NJ – Today, Dr. Arati Kreibich released the following statement in response to Governor Phil Murphy’s decision to issue an Executive Order moving New Jersey’s primary election:
“Governor Murphy has made the right decision in postponing the primary election to July 7th. I remain committed to spending the next three months supporting our community in overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic and earning the votes of NJ-5 constituents.
“However, this crisis has made it clearer than ever that universal vote-by-mail is the only solution that will protect voters’ and poll workers’ safety while preserving voting rights in July, November, and beyond. I call on Governor Murphy to act decisively to move New Jersey towards universal vote-by-mail, and I call on New Jersey’s Congressional leadership to fight for vote-by-mail funding in the critical next COVID-19 relief package.”
