Rep. Norcross Helps South Jersey Community Health Center Secure $3.3 Million in Federal Funding

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) announced that CAMcare Health Corporation, a federally qualified health care center in South Jersey, will receive a $3.3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Health Center Cluster Program. The federal funding will allow regional health care providers to continue delivering essential care to underserved communities in South Jersey.

“This grant helps the good people at CAMcare deliver on their mission and care for the South Jerseyans who need it most,” said Congressman Norcross. “Everyone should have access to quality health care. With this federal funding, CAMcare will have the resources to improve the well-being of our friends and family and save lives in our communities. I’ll continue to work in Congress to ensure local health care providers and South Jersey families have what they need to live healthy lives.”

“We appreciate Congressman Norcross’s persistent efforts on the Hill to stop the spread of COVID-19,” explained CAMcare Health President and CEO Jillian Hudspeth. “While public interest in COVID-19 has dissipated, CAMcare Health continues to see cases. This funding enables us to provide treatment, vaccinations, and tests to respond to the needs of the people in the community we serve.”

Congressman Norcross has long championed community health care facilities and access to affordable, quality health care for all Americans. At the onset of the pandemic, he secured over $2,500,000 in federal funding for South Jersey health care facilities in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. Additionally, he voted for the American Rescue Plan, which provided CAMcare with over $7.75 million to expand services and access to care in South Jersey.
