Rep. Payne, Jr.’s Statement on Indictment of New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez 

Washington, D.C. — Rep. Donald M. Payne, Jr. issued the following statement regarding the indictment of U.S. Senator Robert Menendez from New Jersey.

“I am extremely disappointed to hear about the corruption charges against New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez,” said Rep. Donald M. Payne, Jr.  “The allegations made in the federal indictment are very serious, but it is critical to remember that Americans are innocent until proven guilty.  I trust the American legal system will resolve this issue and that Senator Menendez will act in the best interests of the people of New Jersey.”
