Rep. Payne, Jr.’s Statement on the Passing of Nick Acocella         

Washington, D.C. — Congressman Donald M. Payne, Jr. released the following statement about the death of esteemed New Jersey political commentator, Nick Acocella.  The 77-year-old resident of Hoboken, New Jersey and founding editor of Politifax died June 21, 2020.

“I was saddened to hear of the passing of Nick Acocella.  We have lost a true New Jersey giant in political commentary. Nick’s voice was one of reason and optimism in a field that rarely experiences them. He always searched for the truth and questioned anything that didn’t serve the best interests of New Jersey voters. He was a true historian of New Jersey politics and the nation. I was honored to be a quest on his PBS show Pasta & Politics. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed.”
