Rep. Smith Statement on the Shooting at Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ— Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) issued the following statement on Saturday after the deadly shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh:

“With many details yet unknown, our hearts are broken for the victims of the mass shooting of a Jewish congregation during Saturday morning worship at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. Americans need to unite against all acts of violence, including barbaric manifestations of anti-Semitic hate as seen in today’s shooting.

“Our thanks to the brave and swift response by first responders who prevented additional causalities. We hope and pray that the injured, including police officers, will recover and we mourn the loss of those killed in this cowardly act of hatred.”
