EWING, NJ – On Monday, October 30, at 12:30pm, Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman alongside senior leadership of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey will rally residents of New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District to condemn the full-on assault on women’s health and their rights.
“As Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress try to restrict access to healthcare, New Jersey women need a governor who will stand strong with them,” said Watson Coleman. “Whomever we elect in the coming weeks must be a person who will work to make sure that access to care doesn’t depend on your income or your zip code.”
According to the National Women’s Law Center, the repeal of the Affordable Care Act and proposed changes to the Medicaid program threaten the health and economic security of 7.8 million women, including 5.1 million women of color, who recently gained insurance coverage. This month, Donald Trump issued an Executive Order directing his Administration to scale back health coverage protections, allowing the sale of bare-bones policies and broadening association health plans that threaten the access to affordable and comprehensive coverage for all Americans.
