Reproductive  health experts urge New Jersey Assembly move on the Reproductive  Freedom and Health Equity Bill Package

TRENTON, N.J. — Yesterday, the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee passed two of the bills included in the Reproductive Freedom and Health Equity Bill Package. The legislation heard in committee today invests in New Jersey’s reproductive health care infrastructure (S3492) and expands access to reproductive health care on college campuses (S3494).

Senior Vice President of Public Affairs at Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey Kaitlyn Wojtowicz issued the following statement in support of the bill package:

“At a crucial moment when access to abortion is under unprecedented threat, New Jersey is once again leading the way in protecting and expanding access to reproductive health care. The nine bills in the Reproductive Freedom and Health Equity Bill Package will ensure that everyone can access reproductive health care in New Jersey with safety and dignity. Yesterday’s committee vote on two of these bills brings us one step closer to guaranteeing access to reproductive health care for all in New Jersey.

“We are grateful for Senate Majority Leader Ruiz, Senate President Scutari and all sponsors of these important pieces of legislation. We urge the Assembly to follow the Senate’s lead and immediately take action on these important bills. With renewed urgency, we look forward to working with both the Senate and Assembly to pass the complete Reproductive Freedom and Health Equity Bill Package.”
