Reps. Norcross, DeSaulnier, Pocan and Dingell to Unveil ‘The Future of Work, Wages, and Labor’ Report
A Vision for the American Workforce

WASHINGTON, DC – Tomorrow, Wednesday, September 5th, Representatives Donald Norcross (NJ-01), Mark DeSaulnier (CA-11), Mark Pocan (WI-02) and Debbie Dingell (MI-12) will be joined by Richard Trumka, President of the AFL-CIO and House Committee on Education and the Workforce Ranking Member Robert C. “Bobby” Scott (VA-03) to unveil their vision for the American workforce, entitled the ‘Future of Work, Wages, and Labor.’

The Future of Work, Wages, and Labor initiative—launched in early 2016—is not an impulsive response to the Trump phenomenon, but rather a well-developed research and planning effort undertaken by four Members of Congress from diverse districts across the country.

The initiative aims to develop a comprehensive understanding of the serious issues impacting America’s workforce, identify the government’s role and responsibility in addressing these problems, and to put forth policy proposals that invigorate our economy, prepare for the future, and unleash America’s greatest asset—the strength and power of the American worker.

The event is open to the public, press, and photographers, and will be available to view live on Facebook.

In 2016, the Members saw that many American workers were working harder for less, and ultimately many were being left behind. To urgently address this trend, they launched the ‘Future of Work, Wages, and Labor.’ After completing a series of cross country town halls with workers and meetings with experts, Representatives Norcross, DeSaulnier, Pocan and Dingell are presenting their findings on the state of the American workforce and policy proposals aimed at providing options to the federal, state, and local governments to confront the obstacles today’s workers face across the nation.
