Our Revolution Monmouth, the local chapter of the national progressive movement group Our Revolution has voted to endorse Christine Conforti in her bid for Congress in District 4. Using a comprehensive candidate questionnaire as a starting point, the endorsement committee took into account a variety of criteria including alignment on values, track record, leadership, field strategy, viability, as well as ability to connect to voters and build coalitions.

“Our membership is excited and energized to support Ms. Conforti, an authentic, natural leader with deep roots in the district who has been able to connect with voters in ways that empower participation beyond one electoral cycle,” noted Anna-Marta Visky, Chair of Our Revolution Monmouth.  “We are impressed with her commitment to conduct meaningful conversations about important issues with voters both in person (when it was still possible) and online.”

“Ms. Conforti has shown courage and creativity in her field organizing and we look forward to joining forces on issue campaigns for the Green New Deal and Medicare for All, which have broad public support among all demographics,” said Joan Farkas, member of the endorsement committee. “We need her voice in the district and in the party advocating for a just and equitable healthcare system, for a livable environment and for a sustainable economy so that together we can create a better future for all.”

“I feel very grateful to have the Our Revolution Monmouth membership’s trust and encouragement to be a voice for transformational policies of our generation,” said Christine Conforti. “The Green New Deal is a timely answer to our pandemic economic breakdown, and the only way to rebuild a sustainable and just economy that improves all lives. As for Medicare for All, the benefits of employment freedom, mental health coverage, and access to integrative health directly connect to my personal experience as an entrepreneur, holistic leadership coach, and cancer treatment advocate for my mother.

Given our new shared reality of living in a pandemic, now is time to connect with people around stories that speak to their immediate situation (ie. first-time unemployment, threat of COVID, pandemic-related mental health needs). I believe I am uniquely poised to do so in a way that energizes the progressive base and expands our bubble to create new Medicare for All and Green New Deal supporters.  I genuinely believe that the Our Revolution Movement plus the Mercer County line will yield unprecedented results this primary election.”
