Reynolds-Jackson Named Vice-Chair of Assembly Consumer Affairs Committee
Also Appointed to Serve on the Budget and Commerce Assembly Panels
(TRENTON) – Bringing a decade of experience in public service to her role, Assemblywoman Verlina Reynolds-Jackson will serve as the Vice-Chair of the Consumer Affairs Committee during the 219th legislative session.
Reynolds-Jackson, as a member of the Consumer Affairs Committee during the prior session, helped advance a number of bills aimed at protecting and preserving the rights of customers throughout the state.
“Having previously served on this committee, I understand the gravity and importance of what we do in Consumer Affairs,” said Reynolds-Jackson (D-Mercer, Hunterdon). “Consumers must be protected from unscrupulous business practices that could harm their safety, well-being and financial standing. I appreciate this opportunity to work alongside Chairman Moriarty to address the issues affecting New Jersey customers.”
In addition to assuming a leadership role on Consumer Affairs, she will also be joining the Budget Committee and the Commerce and Economic Development Committee.
With one Assembly term under her belt, Reynolds-Jackson sponsored nearly 200 pieces of legislation during her previous two years in office. Going forward, she has already introduced nearly 100 bills and resolutions that aim to address racial disparities, health insurance coverage, housing safety and affordability, lead contamination and more.
