Rice Statement on Passing of Assemblyman Jerry Green

TRENTON – Senator Ronald L. Rice issued the following statement on the passing of Assemblyman Jerry Green:

“It was one of the greatest honors of my political career to work shoulder to shoulder with Jerry Green since his first days as a legislator and as a member of the New Jersey Legislative Black Caucus. On a personal level, I will greatly miss this man who demonstrated how to be a friend on the deepest level, that which puts us in full service to each other.

“It was that quality of dedication to those in need and to the welfare of our state as a whole, that made him one of the most luminary figures in New Jersey’s modern history.  His passing serves as a reminder that our actions are what live on – and I will honor him by furthering his legacy of unwavering commitment to the marginalized and disadvantaged.

I send my heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.”
