Rik Mehta Wins Key Convention Support in Woodbridge:

GOP Chair Endorses Mehta for CD6

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Woodbridge, NJ)- Rik Mehta has won critical support in his town of Woodbridge in Middlesex County. Republican Municipal Chair John Vrtaric has endorsed Mehta and believes he is the best candidate to take on Frank Pallone as the Republican nominee.

Woodbridge will be a fierce battleground in the primary and general election and with their heavily weighted representation at the Middlesex County convention this adds a huge advantage for Mehta who is the clear frontrunner to win the larger County in the 6th congressional district. Middlesex makes up 70% of the 6th Congressional votes in the general election and is home to the highest population of Indian American voters in the state; a voter block that Mehta commands strong support over his primary opponents.

Mehta made the following statement, “I am honored to have the support of Woodbridge GOP Chairman, John Vrtaric and the Woodbridge committee. John is a small business owner and respected GOP leader in Middlesex County and across our state. I look forward to working with him and the rest of the committee towards a big upset victory in November up and down the ballot.”

Vrtaric’s endorsement of Rik Mehta means he has added to his already growing support across Middlesex County. Mehta is endorsed by Edison leader and former Mayoral candidate Keith Hahn along with Former longtime Sayreville chairman, Art Rittenhouse, Metuchen GOP Chairman Coach Mike Loreti and others. Hahn ran one of the most competitive races this year in a heavily Democrat controlled town, far exceeding expectations and outperforming even the Gubernatorial Republican candidate at the top of the ticket by 10pts. Rittenhouse has been a long-standing member of the Republican leadership and was instrumental in winning Republican council seats in Sayreville. Mehta’s supporters are influential figures of the Middlesex committee and are actively lining up large amounts of support from committee members whose convention will take place on March 19th in support of Mehta.

Mehta’s broad Middlesex support stems from his family’s roots in Woodbridge and Edison where they have been prominent small business owners for over 30 years. Mehta was instrumental in helping candidates get elected to key town council seats across Middlesex County last year sending out over 10,000 text messages and 500 robocalls on behalf of Republican candidates. Mehta is expected to release more campaign endorsements in the coming days as Middlesex County convention approaches.
