It’s with an abundant sadness that I announce the passing of Benjamin F. Mazzeo, Sr. last night. Mr. Mazzeo was the father of Assemblyman Vince Mazzeo, Ben Jr., and Frank Mazzeo. He is survived by his wife and was blessed with many grandchildren.

Mr. Mazzeo, the founder and proprietor of B.F. Mazzeo Fruit & Produce in Northfield was a pillar in the community. He was extremely proud that 58 years after it’s founding his family business is still a staple in the region.

Mr. Mazzeo was a veteran of the United States Navy and served for many years on the Northfield City Council.
