Risley and Toto see momentum build around campaign; celebrate return to indoor dining

Linwood, NJ – Republicans from across New Jersey joined Freeholder candidates John Risley and James Toto Sunday evening at a private event held outdoors, with social distancing, to support their campaign.  In attendance were several high level Republican officials including NJGOP Chairman Doug Steinhardt, Congressman Jeff Van Drew, Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson and Atlantic County Republican Chairman Keith Davis.

“It was great to spend a late summer evening with so many good Republicans” Risley said “The feeling out there is great, and the people of Atlantic County understand that this is the best run county in New Jersey, and with a vote for myself and James Toto it can stay that way.”

Also in attendance were Republicans from outside Atlantic county also attended.  Former 2nd Congressional District Candidate David Richter, and Cape May County Freeholder Marie Hayes made the trip to show their support for our ticket.  “Republicans are working all across New Jersey to deliver a red wave in November. There is a movement on the ground to support our message of economic recovery and reject Democrats’ tax and spend plans like the newly announced gas tax increase.” Toto said

With this morning’s announcement of 25% indoor dining to resume Friday Risley and Toto are encouraged but worried it may be too little, too late.  “It’s been an extremely difficult summer for restaurants all across Atlantic County especially at the shore.  We could have opened indoor dining several weeks ago, but the Phil Murphy one size fits all approach to New Jersey is just wrong” Risley said.

“As a Councilperson in a shore community that relies on tourism dollars it’s crippled us.  Outdoor dining is not an equal option for every restaurant owner, but Governor Murphy uses it to pick the winners and losers. When we win in November, we’re going to work with the Republican majority on the Freeholder Board to do whatever we can to support our small business owners” Toto said.
