Ronald Baus, Jr. Assumes NJ CAR Chairmanship

January 21, 2025 – Trenton, NJ – Ronald Baus, Jr., owner of Spirit Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Swedesboro, recently assumed the chairmanship of the New Jersey Coalition of Automotive Retailers (NJ CAR). He succeeds the organization’s 2024 Chairman, Eric Nielsen (Dover Dodge Chrysler Jeep).

Mr. Baus is a second-generation dealer. His father, Ron Baus, Sr., founded the Spirit dealership in 1991. Following his father’s passing in 2009, Mr. Baus took the reins as Dealer Principal and worked closely with his mother, Diane, and brother, Michael, to ensure the dealership’s continued success. His mother is now enjoying retirement, but he continues operating the dealership along with his brother. A third generation will soon join Spirit, when his daughter, Kaysie, joins the business following her graduation from college this Spring.

“We’ve seen many changes in our industry over the last 34 years and have been able to adapt to them to keep Spirit a customer-focused dealership and leader in our community,” said Mr. Baus.  “We have been fortunate to take the dealership my father founded, work together as a family and continue to embrace the hard work of our employees who will help us continue growing for many years to come.”

Mr. Baus is involved with a variety of charities and has volunteered for several organizations.  He served as a board member and coach for Harrison and East Greenwich Soccer Clubs, as well as Devereux Southern Board Chairman. He is currently President of the Greater Swedesboro Business Association, an associate member of the Greater Swedesboro Kiwanis, as well as a member of the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce.

“Ron’s dedication to the automotive retail industry is only surpassed by his dedication to his family, his employees and his customers,” said Laura Perrotta, President of NJ CAR. “He is an incredible example of what New Jersey’s 520 franchised dealerships mean to their communities. NJ CAR couldn’t ask for a more engaged Chairman to guide us in 2025.”

Mr. Baus just celebrated his 25th wedding anniversary with his wife Susanna. When time allows, he enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family and dogs. He also has a small collection of classic (and modern) cars that he enjoys driving and displaying at car shows.

NJ CAR’s 2025 Senior Officers also include: Vice Chairman Andy Shapiro (Hudson Hyundai Subaru, Jersey City), Secretary Ed Barlow, III (Barlow Chevrolet, Delran) and Treasurer Michael DeSilva (Liberty Kia).
