Ruiz Issues Statement on Deployment of State Troopers to Puerto Rico

Trenton – Senate President Pro Tempore M. Teresa Ruiz issued the following statement commending Governor Murphy’s decision to deploy State Troopers to assist in Puerto Rico’s recovery efforts:

“Puerto Rican culture is deeply woven into the social fabric of our communities, and our state has the third largest population of Puertorriqueños. I applaud Governor Murphy, his seven-member advance team, and the 50 New Jersey State Troopers that are being deployed to aid in the recovery efforts of an island that has been devastated in recent years by a number of natural disasters. New Jersey stands with Puerto Rico and we are steadfast in our commitment to the island’s triumphant revival.”
