Sarlo Reacts To Governor’s Economic Growth Proposals

Trenton – Senator Paul Sarlo, the chairman of the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee and co-chairman of the New Jersey Economic and Fiscal Policy Workgroup, issued the following statement in response to the economic growth proposals offered by Governor Phil Murphy:

“I welcome the ideas presented by Governor Murphy and I look forward to continuing to do the work that is needed to promote economic growth and expand economic opportunities. There is a need to provide more venture capital to support new ideas for start-up businesses that capitalize on new technologies and modern innovations.

“Now more than ever we need to support and promote science and technology in New Jersey –  with an emphasis on innovation. We have great research universities, a strong high-tech sector and businesses that can effectively capitalize on research and development. We should work to find the best ways to have these sectors work together and to give them the support needed to put New Jersey out in front as leader in a modern economy.

“We will give the Governor’s ideas full consideration at the same time we continue the work of the Economic and Fiscal Policy Group so that we can help make New Jersey’s economy stronger.”
