Schwager, Chung & Hausmann Statement on Comments Made By Assemblyman Space
Westwood – Legislative District 39 candidates Linda Schwager, Jannie Chung and Annie Hausman released the following joint statement today regarding the crude and sexist comments made by Assemblyman Parker Space about his opponent, as reported by POLITICO New Jersey.
“To say that the disgusting, hateful language used by Assemblyman Space to denigrate his opponent has no place in our political discourse, is an understatement. There is no excuse for it and we cannot allow these types of comments about women to become normal.
Therefore, we call on Senator Gerald Cardinale, and Assemblymembers Robert Auth and Holly Schepisi to join us in denouncing Assemblyman Space and calling for him to immediately suspend his campaign for reelection. Even in the wake of Charlottesville, Cardinale, Auth and Schepisi failed to rebuke Assemblyman Space after he posed with the Confederate flag, a symbol of hatred and bigotry. We hope that they see the error of their ways and take this opportunity now to show that they stand against hatred alongside the mothers, daughters, aunts, grandmothers, and sisters of the district and throughout the state.”
