Schwartz, Orgen and Pagan Ask Governor Murphy to Consider Deferring Property Tax Collections Until COVID-19 Pandemic Ends to Help Struggling Families

Teaneck, N.J. – The Moving Teaneck Forward slate of Deputy Mayor Mark J. Schwartz and Planning Board Members Karen Lew Orgen and Michael Pagan are asking New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy to consider waiving property tax collections due on May 1st to help families which are struggling with the ramifications of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Governor Phil Murphy always has our backs so we are asking him to please consider deferring property tax collections to help the many families that are struggling to survive this dangerous  pandemic,” said Schwartz, Orgen and Pagan in a joint statement. “These are unprecedented times and families are struggling to put food on the table, medicine in their cabinets and pay their electric bills. Unemployment is at an all time high.  Deferring property tax collection will help families in Teaneck and across New Jersey better provide for their children and their loved ones during this difficult time.”
