SEIU NJ State Council endorses Amy Kennedy for Congress

Today, the SEIU NJ State Council announces its endorsement of Democratic candidate Amy Kennedy for the House of Representatives in New Jersey’s 2^nd Congressional District.

Below is the statement from Milly Silva, President of the Council and Executive Vice President of 1199SEIU United Health Care Workers East:

“We are confident that Amy Kennedy will be a clear and consistent voice for the issues that are important to working families in New Jersey—fighting to advance protections for workers, quality health care for all, and racial and economic justice in our communities.”

The SEIU NJ State Council is comprised of unions representing some 23,000 service employees across the state including health care, warehouse, laundry and school cafeteria workers. Our diverse membership also includes motor vehicle inspectors, resident physicians and municipal employees in Newark. The council includes: 1199SEIU Healthcare Workers East, Laundry, Distribution and Food Service Joint Board of Workers United, The Committee of Interns and Residents and 32BJ Motor Vehicle Inspectors.
