SEIU NJ State Council endorses Andy Kim

for U.S. Senate

Newark – – “The SEIU NJ State Council endorses Congressman Andy Kim for the U.S. Senate, recognizing his unwavering commitment to New Jersey’s working families.

Throughout his outstanding representation of the 3rd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives, Congressman Kim has focused on issues central to the Council’s mission by supporting expanded fair wage requirements, improved workplace safety and expanded access to affordable health care.  The son of immigrants, a mother who became a nurse, he understands firsthand the importance of fair treatment for all workers and championed the PRO Act to protect the right to organize and collective bargaining.

Every election is important and this one most especially. Mr. Kim is a thoughtful and experienced legislator and, as he has demonstrated, poised to challenge the status quo.  A true public servant who is helping restore trust in government, he has the SEIU NJ State Council’s endorsement and unwavering support.”

The SEIU NJ State Council is composed of unions representing service employees across the state, including health care, warehouse, laundry, and school cafeteria workers. Our diverse membership also includes motor vehicle inspectors, resident physicians, and municipal employees in Newark. The council includes 1199 SEIU Healthcare Workers East; Laundry, Distribution and Food Service Joint Board of Workers United; The Committee of Interns and Residents, and 32BJ Motor Vehicle Inspectors.
