Select Committee to Hold NJ Transit Hearing
Trenton– The special committee formed to investigate NJ Transit will hold its fourth hearing on Friday when they will hear from top Transit officials on management of the agency and its impact on service and operations, said Senate President Steve Sweeney, who is chairing the committee.
The hearing by the Senate Select Committee on New Jersey Transit will be held on Friday, February 21, at 11:00 a.m. in Committee Room 4, State House Annex, Trenton, N. J.
The Committee will hear from New Jersey Transit Corporation President and CEO Kevin Corbett and other NJ Transit employees who will testify on ways to improve service, manage operations, upgrade infrastructure, implement needed reforms, and accurately identify needs for capital and operating funding.
Those asked to appear include: Kevin Corbett, CEO and president; William Viqueira, chief finance officer; Jeannie Kwon, chief administrative officer; Ray Kenny, chief of rail operations; Eric Daleo, chief of capital projects; Lookman Fasal, chief information technology officer, and Stewart Mader, customer advocate.
The special committee includes: Senator Sweeney (D-Gloucester/Salem/Cumberland); Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg (D-Bergen); Deputy Majority Leader Sandra Cunningham (D-Hudson); Senate Transportation Committee Chair Patrick Diegnan (D-Middlesex); Senator Joe Cryan (D-Union); Senate Republican Leader Tom Kean (R-Morris/Somerset/Union); Senator Kip Bateman (R-Hunterdon/Mercer/Middlesex/Somerset), and Senator Kristin Corrado (R-Bergen/Essex/Morris/Passaic).
