Senate & Assembly to Hold Joint Hearing to Gauge Impact of Christie’s Plan to Reorganize Delivery of Mental Health & Addiction Services
(TRENTON) – Senator Joseph Vitale and Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle will hold a joint hearing Tuesday of their respective committees to gauge the impact of Gov. Christie’s proposed plan to shift mental health and addiction services functions, along with roughly 200 employees and nearly $1 billion, from the Department of Human Services to the Department of Health.
In doing so, the Senate Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee and the Assembly Human Services Committee will hear testimony from invited guests on the Governor’s Reorganization Plan No. 001-2017 – “A Plan for the Transfer of Mental Health and Addiction Functions from the Department of Human Services to the Department of Health.”
The hearing will take place on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at 11 a.m. in committee room 4 on the first floor of the Statehouse Annex in Trenton.
