Senate Budget Panel To Review FY19 Budget Plan for Law & Public Safety, Banking & Insurance

 

 

TRENTON – The Senate Budget & Appropriations Committee will meet on Tuesday to review Governor Murphy’s FY19 budget proposal for the Department of Law & Public Safety and for the Department of Banking & Insurance, said Senator Paul Sarlo, the committee’s chair.

 

The Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee hearing on Tuesday, April 24th in Committee Room 4 in the State House Annex:

 

  • 10:00 a.m. – Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal and top officials with the Department of Law & Public Safety. The discussion will include the legalization and taxation of recreational marijuana; legal services funding; sanctuary jurisdictions; community policing and the Center on Gun Violence Research, among other issues.

 

  • 2:00 p.m. – Acting Commissioner Marlene Caride and top officials with the Department of Banking & Insurance. The discussion will include the New Jersey health insurance marketplace and the potential effects of changes to the Affordable Care Act; Out-of-Network issues, and tiered insurance networks, among other issues.
