Senate Health Committee to Hold Hearing on Telemedicine

Senate Health Committee to Hold Hearing on Telemedicine

Trenton – The Senate Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee will meet virtually tomorrow, TuesdayOctober 27, 2020 at 1:00 PM to hear testimony from the public concerning the provision of telemedicine and telehealth services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Those interested can view the hearing live here.

“The committee hopes to gather feedback from stakeholders, including insurers, providers and patients, on how telehealth has been working in the state of New Jersey, what has worked well and what needs to change, especially in light of COVID-19,” said Senator Joe Vitale, chair of the Senate Health Committee. “The state has only had regulated telehealth since the summer of 2017, but so much has happened in the telehealth space since then. We are hoping this review helps us to strengthen the statute so that it works better for patients, providers, and insurers.”
