TRENTON – Senate Majority Leader M. Teresa Ruiz released the following statement on the passing of Congressman Bill Pascrell:

“Congressman Bill Pascrell, a son of Paterson fiercely dedicated to his community, led a remarkable life of service to others in the Garden State and beyond. A veteran, public school teacher, Mayor, State Assemblyman, and United States Representative for nearly three decades, Pascrell’s devotion to public service is admirable, and his passing will be felt deeply by the countless lives he touched.

“A lifelong resident of Paterson, Congressman Pascrell never forgot where he came from. He exemplified the power of using one’s voice for good and tirelessly gave back to the community that shaped him. He will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to working families, educators, public safety, and the environment, and will continue to inspire future leaders for generations.

“I extend my deepest prayers and sympathy to his wife and three children, and hope Congressman Pascrell’s impact offers solace during this difficult time.”
