(October 25, 2018) – Today, SMP announced a new statewide ad in New Jersey highlighting how former drug company CEO Bob Hugin would be Donald Trump’s right hand man and his deciding vote if he is elected to the Senate. Bob Hugin was one of Trump’s earliest supporters and he will give the far-right control of the Senate. With Hugin in the Senate, the Republicans will pass tax giveaways to corporations and drug companies, work to take away health care, gut protections for people with pre-existing conditions and confirm more conservative judges like Brett Kavanaugh.

“A vote for Pharma CEO Bob Hugin is a vote for Donald Trump’s extreme direction of our country, and that is a dangerous prospect for New Jersey families,” said Hannah Hurley, spokesperson for SMP. “Bob Hugin would be Trump’s deciding vote; allowing him to strip health care from New Jerseyans in need, pass tax breaks for the wealthiest at the middle class’s expense and confirm extreme judges like Brett Kavanaugh.
