Senate President Sweeney on the Passing of Veronica McGreevey

TRENTON – Senate President Steve Sweeney issued the following statement today on the passing of Veronica McGreevey, the mother of former Governor Jim McGreevey:

“I want to express my heartfelt condolences to former Governor Jim McGreevey, to his father Jack McGreevey and the entire McGreevey family on the loss of Veronica McGreevey. As a wife, a mother and grandmother, she was a steady source of strength and support to her entire family. She was a woman of conscience and compassion who cared about others, especially those who were experiencing difficulties in life.

“As a nurse and nursing instructor, she provided care to those in need and shared with her students the knowledge and skills needed to care for patients. Veronica McGreevey made a real and lasting impact on the lives of those who knew and loved her and had a positive influence on countless others.

“My prayers are with the McGreevey family at this sorrowful time. We share in their loss.”
