Due to the winter’s brutal flu epidemic and the cancellation of many blood drives due to numerous snow storms, Central Jersey is in desperate need of blood donations. To combat the blood shortage, Sen. Kip Bateman will host a blood drive at Robert Wood Johnson Steeplechase Cancer Center on Tuesday, May 8th, 2:30p.m- 7:30 p.m.

“We are in the midst of a statewide blood shortage,” Bateman said. “A single donation can save two lives!  Please join me and donate blood on May 8th at the Robert Wood Johnson Steeplechase Cancer Center in Somerset. Donating an hour of your time and a pint of your blood can mean the difference between life and death for someone in need.”

Sen. Bateman, a lifelong blood donor, has donated 30+ gallons of blood over the past 37 years.

All donations collected through the drive will remain on campus to help patients.  All donors will also be entered to win a $25 gift card courtesy of Robert Wood Johnson.

“Donating blood is a quick, easy and virtually painless way to save a life,” added Bateman. “What else can you do that will make such a meaningful impact in such a short period of time? Please help spread the word – a single donation can save two lives!”
