Senator Bucco and Assemblyman Bergen team with MOBS to Sponsor Troop Drive
Denville, N.J. – Senator Anthony M. Bucco and Assemblyman Brian Bergen LD-25 (Morris, Somerset), are teaming-up with Moms of Bragg Soldiers (MOBS) to collect items to benefit the 82nd Airborne that were recently impacted by the bombing in Iraq.
The items will be collected at their Denville, Morris Township and Randolph legislative offices until February 28th and all three legislators are reaching out to a variety of local veterans’ organizations, Boy Scout troops, local businesses and individual residents for support.
“I was honored when a member of MOBS reached out and asked if we could do a collection in our office,” said Bucco. “I have done many Troop Drives over the years and this is one that will have a significant impact”, said Senator Bucco. “These men and women who are defending our freedom were under direct fire from terrorists and it is my hope that these shipments will help replace what was lost and represent a little piece of home. It is important that we let them know that we are thinking of them and appreciate their service to our country,” he added
“As a veteran, I know what these men and women are enduring. They are doing their job, proudly and honorably,” said Bergen. “A care package, a card or a note from home means the world to a member of the armed forces so far away, for they are, after all, someone’s son, daughter, husband, wife, mom or dad,” he added.”
Of specific need are toiletries for both men and women, including tooth brushes, toothpaste, dental floss, shaving products, feminine products, suntan lotion, deodorant, soap, underwear, towels, washcloths, entertainments items, reading material, playing cards, protein bars, and powdered drinks. No glass, perishable food or liquid items please.
Donations can be dropped off between the hours of 10:00AM – 4:00PM at the Office of Senator Anthony M. Bucco, 75 Bloomfield Avenue, Suite 302, Denville, 1040 Route 10 West, Suite 104, Randolph Assemblyman Brian Bergen, 146 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Township, now through November 22, 2019.
