Senator Singleton to Assist Burlington Food Pantry for November Community Service Event

Burlington, NJ – In preparation for the Thanksgiving season, State Senator Troy Singleton will partner with the Burlington Township Food Pantry for his November community service project. The monthly “Serve with Senator Singleton” event will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 12pm to 2pm at the Burlington Township Food Pantry, 1200 Route 130 North, Burlington, NJ 08016.

The Senator and a group of volunteers will help the organization settle into their new location in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. They will also be asked help sort and stock food donations or to help paint some of the overflow warehouse space. Anyone who is interested in volunteering can sign-up on the Senator’s website: https://www.senatorsingleton.com/burlington_township_food_pantry

“The season of ‘thanks’ and ‘giving’ is upon us,” said Senator Singleton. “For many of us, Thanksgiving is a time to not only give thanks, but to give to those who are less fortunate.  Therefore, it is fitting that we partner with the Burlington Township Food Pantry for our November community service event. Helping the food pantry will not only lend a helping hand to such a great organization, but it will also be appreciated by those who rely on it for food donations.”

This will be Senator Singleton’s 24th “Serve with Singleton” event since becoming a State Senator in January of 2018. Previous volunteer efforts include: indoor and outdoor clean-up days, animal welfare projects, various clothing and supply drives, painting projects, and community event set-up and staffing.

The Burlington Township Food Pantry is run by a group of volunteers who devote their time and talent to eliminate hunger in our area. Its mission is to provide quality food for families who live, work, or worship in Burlington Township in a collaborative effort with multiple community partners including organizations, individuals, and companies.
