Senator Testa Applauds Additional Funding for Manufacturing Voucher Program

Senator Michael Testa issued the following response commending Governor Murphy for providing additional funding for the New Jersey Manufacturing Voucher Program.

“New Jersey manufacturers send their products all over the world and play an integral role in driving the success of our economy. One must only look as far as the Lower Trenton Bridge, which proudly proclaims, ‘Trenton Makes The World Takes,’ to fully understand that New Jersey is a place where manufacturing not only survives, but thrives, in a forever growing industry. Investments such as this give that sign meaning and tells manufacturers around the country that New Jersey is leading from the front, ” said Testa (R-01). “I applaud Governor Murphy for making a profound investment into the Manufacturing Voucher Program to support the growth of our State’s manufacturing industry. Since its creation in 2022, the Manufacturing Voucher Program has given manufacturers the ability to expand their businesses and modernize their operations in a constantly evolving technological world. This additional funding will bolster our economy by ensuring that manufacturers will have access to necessary resources.”

In a press release, Governor Murphy announced an additional $20 million investment into the New Jersey Economic Development Authority’s NJ Manufacturing Voucher Program.

The Manufacturing Voucher Program (MVP) provides grants to manufacturers to foster economic growth and development within the industry. Manufacturers utilize MVP grants to expand their businesses by integrating innovative and emerging technologies to improve their products and operations.

“As Co-Chair of the Legislative Manufacturing Caucus, I have the honor of working with passionate legislators that share the same dedication in supporting legislation and initiatives that foster economic development and job creation,” Testa continued. “The success of New Jersey’s manufacturing industry is a testament to our collective commitment to support policies that encourage growth, competition and innovation.”

Eligible manufacturers can qualify for MVP grants for up to $250,000. The program additionally offers bonuses for manufacturing businesses owned by women, minorities, and veterans.

“The Legislative Manufacturing Caucus was created to serve as the voice for manufacturing bills in New Jersey,” Testa added. “I am incredibly proud of the hard work and bipartisanship displayed by my colleagues in the legislature to contribute to the success of the manufacturing industry in the Garden State. I look forward to continuing our efforts to produce tangible results for all New Jerseyans.”
