Senator Troy Singleton to Lead Team Of Volunteers at ‘Operation Fill-A-Backpack’

 

Senator’s office also serving as drop-off site for school supply donations

Moorestown, NJ – For his August “Serve with Senator Singleton” event, State Senator Troy Singleton will partner with Oaks Integrated Care to volunteer at its “Operation Fill-A-Backpack” back-to-school supply drive. The event will take placeat Oaks Integrated Care, 770 Woodlane Road, Suite 33, Westampton on Saturday, August 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

With the help of Oaks Integrated Care, the Senator and volunteers will organize donated school supplies and then fill backpacks, which will be distributed to local children in need before the start of the school year. Anyone interested in volunteering can RSVP here:

“It is truly a privilege to partner with Oaks Integrated Care for our August service event,” said Singleton, who represents the 7th Legislative District. “We are thrilled to volunteer our time and services with a purposeful, passionate group to ensure that the children in Burlington County have the tools they need to succeed in the upcoming school year.”

Additionally, if anyone would like to donate school supplies, they can drop them off at Senator Singleton’s office at 400 North Church Street, Suite 260 in Moorestown between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Needed supplies include: backpacks, lunchboxes, 3-ring binders with paper, folders, notebooks, index cards, pens, pencils, glue sticks, protractors and rulers, pencil cases, crayons, highlighters, markers, scissors, glue sticks, book covers, calculators and erasers.  Supplies can be dropped off until August 16.

This event will be the Senator’s 20th “Serve with Senator Singleton” community service project.  Previous volunteer efforts include: painting projects, indoor and outdoor clean-up days, various clothing and supply drives, community event set-up and staffing, among others.

For over 50 years, Oaks Integrated Care has been dedicated to improving the quality of life for children, adults and families living with mental illness, addiction or developmental disability. The organization offers over 230 health and social service programs designed to meet the needs of their community with compassion, and to achieve both mental and physical wellness.
