(Logan Township, NJ) – In 2009, Logan Township initiated a shared service agreement offering municipal waste and recyclable material collection services to a neighboring town. Beginning January 1, 2024, Logan Township will be performing waste collection services for ELEVEN municipalities in Gloucester and Salem Counties, whom have all banded together to achieve enhanced service levels at significantly reduced rates. Driving 750,000 miles per year (enough to circumnavigate the Earth 30 times), serving 68,000 residents, over 140 square miles, saving the participating municipalities and their taxpayers nearly $1 million per year; making Logan Township’s shared services one of the most extensive and impactful in the State. Since 2009, Logan Township has offered participating municipalities substantial savings in their waste and recyclable material collection budget by creating a cost-effective and largely scalable waste collection operation. Always mindful of the tax burden on the taxpayers, Logan Township will endeavor to offer additional cost-effective shared services to participating municipalities
