Sheila Y. Oliver Civic Association to Host Inaugural Legacy Brunch Honoring Women’s Empowerment and Leadership

NEWARK, NJ – The Sheila Y. Oliver Civic Association will hold its inaugural Sheila Y. Oliver Legacy Brunch on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the prestigious Valley Regency in Clifton, New Jersey. This landmark event will honor the extraordinary life and enduring legacy of the late Lieutenant Governor Sheila Y. Oliver and recognize eleven inspiring women leaders from New Jersey. The event will be supported by an honorary committee that includes prominent figures such as Governor Phil Murphy, Lt. Governor Tahesha Way, Governor Jim McGreevey, Governor Jon Corzine, Senator Teresa Ruiz, Senator Britnee Timberlake, Assemblywoman Shavonda E. Sumter, Essex County Executive Joe DiVincenzo, NJDSC Chairman LeRoy J. Jones Jr., Mayor Ras Baraka, Reverend Derrick Green, and Pastor Steffie Bartley.

Governor Phil Murphy and Attorney General Matt Platkin are slated to offer remarks.

Oliver Civic Association’s mission of empowering underserved communities and cultivating the next generation of female leaders.
