Sherrill Statement on Reelection Victory

WEST CALDWELL, NJ – Mikie Sherrill released the following statement after being re-elected to represent New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District for a fourth consecutive term:

“Thank you to the people of New Jersey. I am honored to have received your vote, trust, and confidence as we fight to make the 11th District and Garden State a more affordable place to live, work, and raise a family. I’ve advocated tirelessly on your behalf to secure funding for the Gateway Tunnel, stand up for reproductive freedom, and bring back federal tax dollars to address New Jersey’s most pressing needs. It’s this hard work, and your support, that has given me the distinction of being called New Jersey’s most effective House lawmaker

“Over the past 100 days, I have been inspired by the work of our fellow New Jerseyans not only to elect Kamala Harris, but Democrats up and down the ballot across the state. As we await the results of the Presidential election, along with control of the House and the Senate, I know here in New Jersey we will continue our tradition dating back to the Revolution of always uniting with our neighbors and standing for our democracy.

“From the time I swore my first oath to protect and defend our Constitution when I was 18 and entered the United States Naval Academy, I’ve always been proud to serve this country. It’s an oath I will continue to uphold against those who would sow doubts about our elections and the institutions upon which this democracy was built.
