Trenton – In an effort to spread some holiday cheer, Senator Troy Singleton, Assemblyman Herb Conaway, and Assemblywoman Carol Murphy will be holding a holiday toy drive to benefit the Toys for Tots program in Burlington County.

The legislators will be collecting new, unwrapped children’s toys now through Friday, December 15. Gifts can be dropped off at any of their three district offices between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

In addition, Senator Singleton is partnering with Toys for Tots for his monthly “Serve with Senator Singleton” event. He is seeking 20 volunteers to assist with sorting and organizing toy donations at the Toys for Tots storefront to help them get ready for the holiday season. The community service event will be held on Saturday, November 18th from 10am to 12pm at Toys for Tots, 1100 Nixon Drive in Mount Laurel. “Toys for Tots is a program that has been assisting families in need during the holidays for generations. This year, our local Burlington County program informed us the need is very great, and they could use our assistance,” said Senator Singleton (D-Burlington). “We are answering the call for help, and hoping the community will join us so that children in need will have a joyful holiday.”

“Toys for Tots is a great organization that has been around for decades, thanks to the Marines,” said Assemblyman Conaway (D-Burlington). “This organization exemplifies what it means for a community to come together and help those in need, specifically children who are now given that ray of hope for the future.”

“The holiday season can be especially difficult for families facing financial hardships,” said Assemblywoman Murphy (D-Burlington). “Our goal is to ease the burden and help ensure the children in our community are able to experience the magic of the holidays no matter what.”
