Congressman Sires Announces Grants Awarded to the Hoboken Fire Department

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, Congressman Sires announced that grant funding was awarded to the Hoboken Fire Department. The Hoboken Fire Department received a grant award of $38,304 from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

This program provides grants to qualified agencies in order tostrengthen their overall level of preparedness and ability to respond to fire and related hazards. These grants will give the Hoboken Fire Department the ability to procure the staff and equipment necessary to continue effectively protecting our community.

“I extend my congratulations to the Hoboken Fire Department for qualifying for these competitive grants,” said Congressman Sires. “These funds will provide our emergency responders with the necessary tools to effectively combat fires and keep our communities safe.”
