Socialist Workers Party in New Jersey announces its 2021 candidates for governor and lieutenant governor
The Socialist Workers Party 2021 candidates are Joanne Kuniansky for governor and Candace Wagner for lieutenant governor. They will be campaigning for ballot status in the November general election.
They are available for interviews.
They will be speaking at a campaign event on March 6th at 7pm at their headquarters at 3600 Bergenline Ave, Ste 205B, Union City.
Both candidates joined the picket lines in support of striking Teamsters at Hunts Point Produce Market in the Bronx. They are organizing solidarity with oil refinery workers battling a lockout at Marathon Petroleum in Minnesota and warehouse workers fighting for a union at Amazon in Bessemer, Alabama. They are using their campaign to urge others to do the same.
Kuniansky and Wagner back protests against police brutality, anti-Semitic assaults, and attacks on abortion rights. They demand an end to the U.S. government’s economic war on the Cuban people and their socialist revolution.
“As working people advance our struggles,” Kuniansky said February 24, “we need a party of our own, a labor party, that can lead millions to replace capitalist rule with a workers and farmers government.”
Kuniansky is a deli worker at Walmart and Wagner is a freight rail conductor and a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen.
