Somerset County Federation of Democratic Women Endorses

North Plainfield Council Candidate Councilwoman Keiona Miller

The Somerset County Federation of Democratic Women is honored to endorse Councilwoman Keiona Miller as a candidate to retain her Council seat in the upcoming November 3, 2020 election.

Councilwoman Miller has put service to North Plainfield above all else. Her desire to engage in and with her community continues to get her elected.

Councilwoman Miller has organized community programs, bringing together speakers and professionals in law enforcement to help the public understand the concerns impacting fair and equal justice for issues such as nonviolent marijuana use and gun violence reform.

Councilwoman Miller organizes and hosts North Plainfield’s yearly Black History Month celebration for all residents. She brings together a diverse combination of performers and speakers to this yearly event, including neighboring communities.

Councilwoman Miller has been named to Insider NJ’s African American Political Power List in 2019, with such luminaries as Senator Cory Booker, Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, and County Commissioner Shanel Robinson.

Councilwoman Miller is in the forefront of supporting those who have experienced sexual harassment in the workplace and has been working to help those with these issues find justice.

Councilwoman Miller came from a large nuclear family and her strong family bonds continue. These relationships shaped her future desire to serve her community and remain intact as a framework for the community associations she works to build. She currently holds the position of Director of Outreach of the New Jersey State Senate in Trenton.

For these reasons, the Somerset County Federation of Democratic Women endorses Councilwoman Miller to retain her position
