South Jersey Young Democrats honors 25 Candidates at their Eighth Annual Endorsement Party

CHERRY HILL, NJ – Last night, the South Jersey Young Democrats hosted their Eighth Annual Endorsement Party, honoring 25 candidates throughout South Jersey under the age of 40. These candidates ranged from Township Committee candidates to State Senate candidates. Over 45 Young Democrats attended this event and over $6,000 was donated to the endorsed candidates.

“I’m honored to lead an organization that focuses on mentoring and supporting young Democratic campaigns for elected office at every level,” said Digna Townsend, president of the South Jersey Young Democrats. “The success of the Democratic Party in South Jersey and throughout New Jersey depends on having dedicated and diverse individuals serving. This year, I’m proud to say we have had more women candidates than ever.”

This eighth annual reception for endorsed candidates took place at Cous Cous Mediterranean Grill in Cherry Hill, and has continued to be an exciting event throughout the years. Since the first annual event in 2011, the South Jersey Young Democrats have endorsed over 115 candidates and donated over $43,000 to Young Democrats running for office throughout the region.

Notable endorsed candidates included Senator Bob Andrzejczak, Assemblyman Adam Taliaferro, Bill Moen, who is running for 5th LD Assembly, and Gina LaPlaca and Mark Natale, which are running mates for the 8th LD Assembly.
