Speaker Coughlin Statement on Minimum Wage Increase

(TRENTON) – Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin (D-Middlesex) issued the following statement on the minimum wage increasing to $10 an hour today:

“The minimum wage rises in New Jersey today to $10 an hour. As I have always said, no family should have to choose between keeping the lights on at home and putting food on the table. Moving families towards $15 an hour is a monumental accomplishment and I am proud of the action we have taken to provide individuals with an income commensurate with the dignity of their work.

“All working class families deserve a fair living wage. The Legislature will continue the fight for fair wages and economic equality.”
