PISCATAWAY, NJ–Our Revolution New Jersey and its Middlesex County chapter are excited to endorse progressive community leader Staci Berger for the Third Ward seat opening up on the Piscataway Township Council.

“Our Revolution Middlesex is excited to endorse Staci. Every town in New Jersey needs someone like her to bring people together, advocate for the community and hold public officials accountable,” said John Hsu, Chair of Our Revolution Middlesex.

Berger is a strong advocate for housing affordability, defending democracy, and implementing good government. She has also been on the front lines of the environmental justice fight here, combating air pollution and warehouse development in her community and beyond.

“Thank you, Our Revolution,” said Berger. “Together, we can make sure our elected officials serve Piscataway’s hard-working residents, not corporate donors and political insiders!”

Berger has been the driving force behind many campaigns for local offices, mobilizing and encouraging civic participation, and organizing to help neighbors in need.

“It is an honor to be endorsed by Our Revolution NJ and its grassroots leaders. ORNJ has been on the front lines fighting for working families, to ensure that our economy and democracy work for all of us. We need elected officials at every level who will fight for Medicare for All and a Green New Deal, which I am proud to support,” said Berger.

Berger was instrumental in the fight to make Middlesex County’s Democratic Committee seats gender-neutral, and she actively opposed the establishment’s move to cancel the 2021 election.

In November 2021, Berger’s initiative campaign for a local government transparency ordinance was passed into law. She had spearheaded a petition gathering effort, forcing a vote on the issue, and her team defeated the Piscataway political machine in court and at the ballot box.

Now, the powerful establishment is trying to undermine Berger’s electoral prospects through a shocking gerrymandering scheme that she helped to expose. Despite the unexplained changes, Berger’s supporters know that she will vigorously campaign, educate and empower her future constituents, and continue to fight against partisan tampering with our elections.

Our Revolution Middlesex and Our Revolution NJ are recruiting volunteers to support Berger’s primary campaign, and canvassing door-to-door to reach voters in the ward.
