State Senator Troy Singleton Response To Teddy Price’s Endorsement Of Bob Hugin
State Senator Troy Singleton released the following statement in response to Teddy Price’s endorsement of Bob Hugin:
“This week, Bob Hugin touted the endorsement by Teddy Price, an Ocean County Freeholder candidate. Why tout the endorsement of someone who has been an absentee elected official? Or why highlight someone who has had multiple criminal charges? Because these are exactly the type of people Bob Hugin calls his allies.
“We all remember how proud he was to receive the endorsement of Assemblyman Parker Space, who so proudly displayed a confederate flag on social media and used sexist derogatory terms to describe his opponent. I have said it before, and I’ll say it again – by aligning himself with racism and bigotry, he is sending a clear message that if he were elected to the U.S. Senate, he would stand with those that willfully and blindly adhere to the menacing, bullying policies of the Trump Administration.
“All of this stands in stark contrast to Senator Bob Menendez, who continues to rack up credible and real support for his reelection campaign by groups such as Planned Parenthood, the Sierra Club, the Congressional Black Caucus and multiple labor groups including the SEIU, the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union, and the International Longshoremen’s Association, just to name a few.
“These organizations represent thousands of hardworking, energized New Jerseyans who understand what’s at stake in this election. Not only does this show the breadth and depth of the Senator’s support after years of being a leading progressive voice for New Jersey, but it also shows the diversity of his coalition.”
