Statement From Democratic Strategist on Mikie Sherill-Jay Webber 11th District Debate

MONTCLAIR, N.J. — The New Jersey Democratic State Committee is releasing the following statement from Democratic strategist Brendan Gill on tonight’s 11th Congressional District Debate between Democrat Mikie Sherill and Republican Jay Webber.

“Mikie Sherill won this debate because she showed that she’s a different kind of candidate who will bring new, dynamic leadership to Congress to help change course in Washington and fight for New Jersey. Meanwhile, Jay Webber was further exposed as a right wing ideologue pushing an extreme partisan agenda. Webber consistently puts his own far right beliefs ahead of what’s right for New Jersey families on issues ranging from gun safety to gay rights to women’s health. Mikie Sherill, on the other hand, has the experience and character to bring common sense, practical leadership to Congress and that’s why she will be elected on November 6th.”
